So Happy Together

My little buddies play together so nicely. I love watching them play together and make up stories and play pretend. We had some friends over today and it was awesome having four kids play together with no fighting and no problems between the kids. It makes such a difference in my day, and my children's day, when they have good playmates. I'm so grateful that my kids have good friends and are able to have so much fun playing together.

Today Jordan got to hold a brand new baby. I haven't seen him that excited to hold anything before. It was so sweet, he kept kissing her and when he had to give her back to her mom, he asked if he could hold her for ten more minutes. It was so sweet. I just love that sweet little guy!

Doctor Appointment

Today we had a doctor's appointment for both kids. Jordan is 45" and 52 pounds. Of course, he's off the charts, like always. Jakey is 36" and 31 pounds, which is about the 70th percentile. They both had to get shots, and Jordan had a TB test. They both did really well, and only cried for a minute during the shots. The doctor was also really impressed with Jakey's speaking ability (and his sentence structures), which was quite exciting for me because I have always felt that he is a slow developer.

Jordan also got new glasses because he broke his pair. We only ended up spending $20 for his glasses, which is amazing considering his first pair (without our new amazing insurance) cost $250. And that was with 50% off the lenses. I am so grateful we have such good insurance and that we don't have to worry about health care.

The Beach

We went to the beach on Friday. The kids LOVED it and the waves were crazy big. It was kind of funny watching the people trying to surf them. It's really nice living just a few minutes from the beach!

Sea World

We got passes for Sea World the other day, and I am so happy that we did. The kids LOVED it! They had so much fun and everywhere we went Jordan would get super excited. Each animal we saw he would "check off" his mental check list. "Saw the whales...check! Saw the polar bear...check! Saw the penguins...check!" He's so funny.

Jakey and the baby Beluga whale

 The boys and the Belugas

 Polar bear!

 Brudders

Pet Show, which was the highlight of the day for Jordan. It is pretty awesome to see how they train all of the rescued pets. Although when we saw it, one of the Macaws escaped and was attacked by a crow. It was fine, but kind of crazy to see.

Only family photo of the day. And for the last year, basically.

The only performing pilot whales in the world. And they were awesome!

Sleeping turtles...but they're not too exciting when they're awake either. So it was no big loss that they were sleeping.

Every day since we went to Sea World Jordan has been asking when we'd be going again, and if we can buy a fish...or a dolphin. I said yes that we'd go again, and have remained elusive as to the question of owning a fish...OR a dolphin.

Sensitive

I'm not sure if it's the age or if it's the fact that he is sick, but lately Jordan has such empathy for other people. We were watching a movie today, one that he has seen lots of times, and in one scene the person is sad and thinks about giving up. Jordan came running over to me with tears in his eyes and said, "He's so sad momma. I don't want him to be sad." He's so sweet. He wasn't happy again until the guy in the movie decided not to give up and was happy again. I love my Jordan Boy.

Family Home Evening Kits

I have finally started making my FHE kits again, which have been a lot of fun. A couple friends and I are getting together once a week to make one whole kit so that we can have a new one ready for the upcoming week. They are turning out super cute and I feel good that I am putting all of my "stuff" to use again. I am excited to have the kids see the new activities every week, and it might make them more interested in doing FHE now that there are fun things for them to do and look at. Hopefully. Even if the kids don't appreciate them fully yet, it's still fun for us to get together and make them. So at least I'M getting something out of making them.

Making these kits make me feel like I am making my grandmother proud because she ALWAYS had fun little activities for the kids. I can remember all of her felt boards and slide shows and nursery crafts. It was always so fun to look through all of her fun little church stuff and maybe one day my kids will feel the same. Since my kids don't get to know Grandma Linda on earth at least they'll get the benefit of the things I learned from her, and I think that's what is most important anyway.

Disneyland

We got Jordan an autograph book at the beginning of the year, and he has had a great time collecting autographs. He's becoming such a big boy. He waits in line so patiently and is really excited to see all of the characters.

He was SUPER excited about seeing Buzz!

Goose Fight

Jordan went to a birthday party yesterday and got charged by a goose because he likes to get too close to birds. Later he told everyone that a duck tried to fight him. Watch out for those fighting ducks!
